I've been out of the hunt for a while due to a work promo and the birth of a new kid, but I've found the time to get back in the game recently. I figured I would get a log going to share my silver and interesting finds.

8/23/13 - first ever box of quarters = skunk.

I know quarter finds are rare, anyone who regularly searches quarters can you tell me what kind of find/ box average I would expect if I searched them?

1 1990 British 5 pence.

I search them pretty frequently. I think I average one per every 3 or 4 boxes.

Skunk, found a 2000p that has solid silver ends, Internet research says it is silver plated. Anyone crossed paths with one of these in the past that could shed some light?

If it isn't an s mintmark it's plated.

Definitely a p mint mark. It was exciting to find the silver end, but a big letdown when it was only a plated coin.

sweet canadian dime, i love finding silver foreigns! I get foreign coins quite fewquently, i don't mind the swiss 1/2 francs due to their exchange value of like $0.50 apiece but really hare those thick silver looking edges of the british 5p coins(even though i can clearly tell by the edge what the coin is !)

I always get excited it's like a super thick silver proof. I'm disappointed 100% of the time.
