I've been pretty much out of commission for over a week due to some gout issues. Really sucks, 'cause we're having some awesome fall weather. But I managed to get out and hobble around a bit today. Just headed into the woods in a very old part of town. Suspected that just maybe somebody a hundred years or more ago had also walked those woods and maybe dropped something. Bingo! My first Seated dime! And only a few minutes later, my best looking V nickle by far! I couldn't spent too much time on my feet yet, so I decided to leave while I was ahead, and save the rest for another day or two or three.

Must be something in the water. Seems like with multiple people the last few days, their oldest coin looks like a fresh, or nearly fresh, drop. Nice digs.

hey you made it work and work it did with two great finds. I am hoping for those two myself. Ah, the mind is willing but the body lets you down. it does help a little when you see that you aren't the only one. I really hope the gout issue gets better for you. When you hurt and plan to hunt anyways, it tends to make you research harder to get the best hunt out of your limited time/ability.

Beautiful Dime , I'd leave it as is , & the V Nickel 's condition makes the only one I ever dug look 'Hammered'.
Hope you get back out there soon & hope yr health stays good.

Oh, I plan to! My gout is improving quite a bit and if I could get out for an hour today, I should be able to go for a few hours tomorrow or the next day.
