I am adding a photo of frame buckle and chain that found recently. The buckle isn't flat, but has a standout mid section. This suggests it was for a thick leather strap. Is this a buckle for horse tack or could it be for something else? I've added a quarter for scale. The buckle is 1 5/8" X 2 5/8". Does it look like the chain might be cast or wrought iron?
