Shoe buckle tongue, chape, and spikes. The shoe buckle frame is still out there!!!! This fell out of a shoe buckle. Mid to late 1700s, you must be in a good spot, find the rest!!!!

Yeap, the guts of an 18th C Shoe Buckle.

I see you're out where I grew up. I got out there for Christmas so take a look at my last two posts if you want.
 

That is an excellent find. Go back to that spot and dig ALL repeatable signals! There should be a frame in that spot. As intact as that guts are, the frame should be complete too.

Really nice!!:thumbsup: Shoe buckles are awesome to find! If you are finding shoe buckles it usually means there's other colonial goodies lurking nearby!
