Bullet in the Dirt

I know a lot of people have found bullets embedded in wood, but here is one a little different. It is in battlefield dirt. . I inherited it from my brother who found it in the 1970s at Antietam. Back then, there was still privately owned land available to hunt. Now, it is owned by the National Park system.

You would think dirt would eventually dry out and crumble, but the one I got from my brother was found almost 50 years ago and it hasn't lost one bit!

I dug it 2 years ago on Rebel front lines, Battle of Chancellorsville.
