Another hunt at the burned farm+a random field down the way. Got some keepers there.
Nice to find was the 18th century silver belt mount. Couldn't ID the hallmarks.
Got some coins, one is a 1765 1/12 Reichsthaler, some Prussian coins and three toasted Romans. On the pottery you can see that they were in a fire. The buttons are cool also. One looks like a crudely homemade button, and the biggest button i ever dug. Over 1 1/2" in diameter. For the shotgun shell fans i made a pic from an aluminum casing cal. 12/70.

Funny, I was only just recently talking about those large Dandy Buttons turning up outside of Britain where they were produced during 1750-80s. I'm not sure if the fashions were then copied/manufactured or if they got export to Europe.

I rarely dig these. The biggest til now was about 32 mm with a flower design.

OK makes me think export or carried by user.

I looked at the silver 'hook' thing again, it actually a very nice example. Reminds me more of a clothes fastener??

I lean toward jewelry. The wealthy farmers wifes had similar clips/mounts on the belt or dress with a hanger for the different keys of the farm. I have one other example, not that massive, with the hook attached at the back like the ones on the pics. This here has one loop at the lowest point, others have sometimes two, for chains that hold a bar where the keys are on. Today these are used for decoration to livery, mostly in Bavaria.

Nice finds again Lu. And more silver. I didn't post on your silver heart find. You are a silver magnet. I noticed few firing rings. Hunted over already or one of those fluke area's? WTG........again.
