Hi all,
Dug this button on a quick morning hunt before work. I have found reales, and a paris exposition uniform button there before. Is this an alpaca? Or a deer?

What do I know as my wife says .

It looks like a mid to late 1800's 'Sportsman's ' button or a cool button for a cool hunting shirt . ( all my opinion ).

This is correct. c.1850s
