button i.d. help please

This is one of the smallest buttons i have seen and i'm not sure if it is a child's button or if it is just worn down on the edges.
the shank is tiny too so i think its just a little guy. but i haven't got a clue to the age of it other than "old"

That's a cool find, It looks to be civilian one piece flat button from 1830's to 1850's give or take. Maybe a cuff button.

circa 1830 is not far off & its not that small, had many half that size.
