Buttons & More

Went out with FoundURtreasure yesterday for a quick hunt in ol Glendale again.

First hole I dug a 1929 Chauffer's license. Pretty cool and my first. Thanks to Norman for the toilet bowl cleaner trick.
Also got 5 wheaties and this pot metal turtle I think.

FoundurTreasure got a few buttons that he'd like to see if anyone can ID? One is a Scovill Waterbury. He also got a strange tag or token with the # 28 on it. Maybe some help there too.

Once again thanks for looking and HH,

Fishstank

Re: Buttons & More

Can't ID your button, try the "what is it" section
The last button is quite unique :o I like it ;D
I would guess the round with #28 on it is a valve tag ???
Congrats on all your finds

Cool finds........I like the crippled turtle! The button you are asking about looks like a 'nurse' symbol, maybe off of an old nurse's uniform or coat? Just a swag on my part, probably, way off base.
Almost looks like some writing in the middle of the cross??....how about another pic after some careful cleaning?

Re: Buttons & More

I think the first button is Red Cross early to mid 1900s. The second look like an overall's button and the Lions head looks like a blazer button.
Can you read the exact wording for the Scovill"s backmark. That will help date it.
