I don’t think that’s a shell casing, I’ve never seen one of such small caliber with a center fire primer but you never know.

It looks like a .25 caliber center fire. Tiny little suckers. Definitely not a bullet but is a shell casing Bullet is long gone.

I find many of those it is a shell looks like it was fired out of its chamber like some kids were hitting the pin with a hammer or make shift firing mechanism nice tribe there too

As a kid I watched someone stick a 20 gauge shot shell in a vice out in their garage, and proceed to hit the end with a hammer...... can confirm kids do stupid stuff. Also throwing them into a fire was another thing we did...

Another thread also reminded me we use to shoot them with pellet guns as well. Mostly used .22 shells, and our hit rate wasn't that great haha

Used to slip a shotgun shell into a short piece of 3/4 black pipe and tape it to the end of a bb gun. We sure were a bright bunch

BTW too long for .25 auto so it is probably a .25 stevens by the looks of it

the rifle brass looks like a 22 hornet shell , they were really popular back in the day ...

I believe my first was recovered in Connecticut...., and I live in Calif....!
Shell casings can often give you a range of dates when made.
