I have been overwhelmed with the number of buckles you blokes continue to find. We have nothing similar down here, not even close, so it nice to see these items with so much history attached.
It occurs to me that for each buckle, there is more than likely a dead Soldier. This is hardly mentioned, but in the excitement of the moment quite understandable.
I have an idea.
Do you think, that all Buckle Hunters would be willing to place one of those souvenir type U.S. flags where they find a buckle? As a mark of respect for the poor farmer, grocer, teacher, soldier that gave his life for what he believed in, and what ultimately shaped the course of the USA. Make it a kind of rule so to speak.
What do you think?
