Anyone in the central part of the state gonna be around the next few days that has any help on where a hotspot or two are? I know it's late in the season but anything would be helpful even if its only for future reference. Also, if there's any place to get decent quality flint/chert, I would love tto know
Thanks guys, Grant

Any good places to detect? I'll just be trying to keep busy and maybe try some new land...

I Googled Pennsylvania archaeological sites and Wikipedia was at the top of the page with a big list of historic and prehistoric sites. That would be a great place to start your research. Then the use of Topo maps and historical documents should paint a pretty clear picture of the area you will be in. You may find your own hot spot that way. That's what I do when I start to scout a new area....research ..research ...research. people won't usually give you a hot spot...they will give you a known about area that's been picked over until their interest level in it is not high enough to keep it quiet.

Where you headed? I wouldn't mind going out on a hunt. I am in the NorthEastern part of PA. I hunt mainly NJ but know of a couple of spots in PA and NY. Let me know what your plans are and maybe we can get together on a hunt while you are up here...........................GTP(Chris)

I use google earth. It helps to get a look at the areas you might be going to before you get there if you know the address.
