I'm very new to this hobby and have been looking into the local history in this area as it is very close to where I live. Has anyone hunted the area of Camp Sackett outside of Lecompton or the Fort Titus battle site in the same area? There is also the area outside of Perry, KS towards Williamstown where the Kaw Agency(1827) was formed by Major Daniel Morgan Boone(son of pioneer Daniel Boone). This little area appears to be very history rich. Driving around the area it seems that most of these places are either plowed under(Kaw agency area) or in a quarry(Camp Sackett). Camp Sackett, however, is where over 500 soldiers were stationed and fairly spread out towards Lecompton. Just wondering if anyone has hunted this area? I'd be interested in meeting some people here locally to hunt these areas if I can find out exactly where these sites are and if I can obtain local permission to hunt these areas.
