The 1st Test is: Take a Magnet to the different parts of it. Silver is NOT Magnetic! Is that a C or a G? It could be Coin Silver which is Good!
Or could be German silver which is Bad.(Not really silver)

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the help, I'll try the magnet. The letter is a G and there is some stuff underneath it but it was not punched all the way in so I dont know what else it says. Thanks again for the help!!

Nice find. Deco style, popular in the 1920's and 30's. Whiting and Davis manufactured a lot of these in silver, but even if its German silver there are people who collect such things.

Rich: Is there any Makers Marks stamped or sewn on it? Any Country of origin?

If you go on the assumption it's real Silver, It's probably worth a couple hundred bucks! Whether you can get it, I don't know!

There's an awful lot of 'em out there!

I have went back and reivestigated the marks. Underneath the G SILVER there is an M then a larger than normal space what looks to be a small o and then a larger than normal space then maybe either 2 small L's that is all I can see the a 30x so I am getting a good look. If anyone knows silver marks I will post a close up with the digital microscope. Thanks again. Rich
