I found a couple of wine tops and bases that look exactly like that in a pit that had a mix of pontil'd and non-pontil'd bottles. My guess at the age of the pit was late 1850's to mid-1860's. The lack of a pontil mark on your bottle and the extremely crude lip seem to support such an age range.
Most of the bottles I dig up are from a dump that dates to the mid-1890's and we don't find anything this crude in that dump!
ya i know the dump mainly had stuff in it from the 1920s-1950s and i was extremly suprised when i found this one there was another one just like it but it was broken.
