✅ SOLVED Can anyone date this coin

Found this today at one of my old sites thought I had a half cent until I wiped the dirt off. I tried to date it, but just got more confused. Any help is appreciated

Hi there. You seem to have a Japanese 10 Yen coin. The years for that design are 1951 to 1989, I believe. I found this image on Google for an example.

Thanks but it looks like symbols under the 10 are different

I didn't even realize, it's missing a symbol . Well it's definitely a yen, just need to find the year now.

Okay, so these characters on the back are the year. They change for each year just as a penny does. This year in particular is 1952 and I've found a more accurate Google image for you. Hope this helps.

it is actually pretty interesting....this coin reading left to right says...Showa (that is the Emperors era name)...2-10-7 (the 27th year of Hirohito's reign)....and the last symbol means "year"....this translates into a date of "1952"
