If we put these two pieces together we would have a whole specimen :-) it looks like most of the tooth is missing from yours and you have mostly root just the opposite with this one the whole root is gone

Your right that it beats turtle shell hands down lol. If you need the root to complete the specimen let me know. I have no attachment to it bud. I'm after megalodon teeth.

Love fossils!!!! I'm not sure what it is. But you might want to wash your hands after touching it. Ha Ha Cool Tooth find! Might look for more in the same area. Looks heavy and bigger than most animals teeth today. Would think it would take a very long time for a tooth to apart like that. Tooth was bigger than that at first. Kind of skinny,long and straight for a tooth!! But Carolina Tom has my guess. Cool!
