I've searched up and down the forum and cannot find a straight answer. Is it really only 1955 thru 1981 that were pure nickel. It seems that other years that also seem to be pure or have a really strong nickel content? Being from Michigan I find thousands of Dimes, nickels and quarters during my crh'ing and I'd really love to know.. Thanks

Thanks! I ended up with two plated ones mixed in. A WWII and a Korean War era nickel. So now they're all cleaned up. ;-)

The problem is is that the plated steel does too. So those made during Korea stick to.
