I keep all copper pennies, american or canadian. I think in the future copper should rise.

Eventhough I don't save American coppers, I do save all Canadian copper.

I have the same goal as I do for dimes, 1 roll of each year/variety. Above that though, save the copper and spend the rest (or cash it in in Canada)

Of course I have a lot of Canadian pennies to sift through some day ...

I keep canadian copper seperate. I have recently talked to a local junk man about copper pennies [the legal ones to melt of course - ie foreign] to get an idea of things but he gave me that look i get when asking for hand rolled coins at a bank that hired someone for their ability to speak another language and not their ability to handle money. My guess is that even when we will be allowed to melt our copper the local junk men will have have no clue to the copper in foreign coins.
