I live 1 mile away from the U.S.A/Canadian border and when I search rolls of pennies I find tons of them. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to save them or not. Thanks

I like to save the copper Canadian cents. I separate them by date and am slowly building up a stash. The Canadian mint thinks its worthwhile to cull them so don't give them the chance. I also keep pre 1982 nicks.
Get while the getting is good my friend. I live 40 min. away from the border and find tons of US cents mixed in with the Canadian. I've been keeping everything that is copper and all the ones in AU condition. I also am keeping a few thousand on the zinc ones in order to burn the stores when they try to round up the price on me. Every business I have been to since the starting of the cull is refusing to use pennies in order to give you correct change. In reality they are just sucking in some extra cash that will have no paper trail come tax time. Think about it, if a big retailer rounds up a cent of two for a few million purchases it won't take long to add up to some serious $$$. I'm sure the US government will follow with a cull of their own.
