I am out of town on business and had to get my CRH fix. I stopped by a bank next to my hotel and they proceed to tell me, "yes, we have half dollars but they are in a bag, we would have to sell them all at once." I was excited that A. they had some halves and B. it was a bag and C. they were willing to sell it to me. They bring out a canvas bag off their machine with $899 in it and another coin lok bag with $100. The canvas bag was marked for quarters. The teller told me to keep the bag. So I also scored my first canvas bag. They thanked me a few times for buying all their halves. The coin lok bag was dated 12-23-13. I saw a 40%er in that bag and got excited. That bag actually contained $100.50 after I counted. Found 5 40%ers and 1 90%er.

So now that I'm happy I found silver I dump out the canvas bag and holy cow there was silver, lots of it. I pulled 40%er after 40%er out of the pile. There was lots if other change too. When it was all said and done, I ended up +$2.97 on top of my $999 buy.

Total Finds are...

95 40%ers
4 90% Kens
1 Ben

100 silver coins and some pocket change. Thank you Kansas City!!

My best haul to date. It's still out there Folks!!

Thanks for reading and Happy Hunting to all!!!

Love it, thanks for the pics, and the story. You deserve a fancy coffe/soda/booze drink of your choice today.

My best day was similar, but included $5.00 face silver canadian monies.

Awesome score, man! I had a 100-silver roadie with my then 10-year old son a while back, not unlike your score. It was a great time. Love those mint bags! I've got a quarter, dime, and cent bag all from banks. Good to know awesome caches like that one are still out there for the taking!
Congrats!

:notworthy: That's a great score for sure. What was the year of the Ben & did it have a mint mark on the back? Also what was the years of the 40%s? 1970 is the key date for them.

CW3, the Ben was a '58 D, and unfortunately none if the 40's were 1970. That would have been awesome!

That is really awesome, congratulations on the buy and silver, the canvas bag is cool too! Is this bank close to where you live? you said you were on a business trip so I would assume no.

Thanks. Unfortunately it is not near where I live, I'm located east coast and the bank was in Kansas City.
