I carry all of my stuff in a backpack since I ride a motorcycle everywhere. I generally put the detector together grab my Lesche/Ames depending on location, Lowes finds pouch, and possibly a pinpointer then I leave the backpack hanging on my bike.

Hang everything on a craftsman toolbelt with the minelab bag on it as well. Carry the Digger, Deet, pinpointer, on occasions a small pick-ax, Fenix flashlight, magnet, and small towel. works well, is adjustable, and has a warranty so I'm happy!

I'm beyond a newbie. I go with a backpack, a folding pick/shovel military grade, a small gardening tool, a set of handheld sheers for random crap I find in the ground, gloves, bug spray, and a canvas goody back for whatever I find.

Here is my setup, it might look a little weird but it works.
It holds my digging tool, metal probe, bug spray, extra batteries,
weather proof cover for my detector and a bunch of other stuff.
I keep the things I don't want to get dirty in ziploc bags, this lets me
use the bucket for junk. the small plastic container is wear I put coins,
rings and small things.

Bucket. I put all my stuff in a bucket. When I get to my destination I pull out my tool belt load it with my digger and pinpointer and I'm good to go. Also, in the bucket I have spare batteries, bug spray, granola bars, water, empty pill bottle (for rinsing coins in water), and a Ziploc bag to cover my unit in case rain creeps up on me. Note to self: need to get a shower cap to cover unit in case of rain. My knee pads I strap to my detector's pole. This setup works well for me especially if I have a bit of a walk to the site (which is usually the case).

My set up exactly - less is more imo :icon_thumleft: I do carry my blackbery, it's handy for pictures, gps (in case i get very lost) and emergency calls.

I got this one at Wally world for $9, got big center pocket and an outer pocket and has 2 water bottles.
Outdoor Products.com

Don't really need 2 water bottles but figure to use the other bottle pocket for something else.

My local Wally World had 4 on the shelf even tho the web site says don't they carry it.

It has almost everything I was looking for at a really low price, even tho it's well constructed.

~~Happy Hunting~~
