Drove by to see if they had cut any of the grass that has gotten so high out at the camp. They had cut a strip or two by the road where we come in, so I thought I would try to hunt for a few minutes before it got too hot. I got to hunt for about 30 minutes before I had to leave.... I found a swivel for a gun sling, a small chain that goes on a bridle, and a very nice union cavalry button....still had a little gilt on it too!

Nice find! What does the back mark say? I can make out what looks like "PLATED".

It appears to say "GOLD PLATED ? ??" I need to do a little more cleaning to see if I can make out the rest.
