Arrow86 I believe you are right about it being a scraper. It didn't look like any arrowhead I've found before!

Welcome to the site! To me it looks like a flake or debitage and good idea to search that cave and surrounding area a little more for artifacts. It's really nice material whatever it is and I would've brought it home too. I find similar stuff like that in my creek along with pottery and points and have a box just for those type finds. If you find a flake then there's a chance there will be a point made of the same material near there, so this will be a good stone to train your eyes to look for. Good luck and can't wait to see what else you find!

Yeah, it looks like debitage to me too, but that's not to say that it wasn't picked up and used as a blade of sorts.

Not a point... Looks like a utilized flake tool of sorts (based on the flaking. Hard to tell if the edge was sharpened or chipped from use... but it does look utilized.) Lithic could be flint or maybe chalcedony... but maybe not... I can't find a good photo but a lot of times chalcedony has a translucent gray and white marbled appearance.

Good close ups are always beneficial, nice job. I will also agree...flake tool.

Amazing what a good pic of the right place can show.

Possibly a good sized spoke-shave type tool, and a better shot of the thick end, may even reveal it was a scraper too.

Looks like a pretty good sized piece of flaked off material. Find them in some pretty big sizes here in the bluffs on my property

Hopefully you are picking up the pieces like his. Cause his is a nice artifact, not just a big flake!

Alright. Did I ever say I didn’t pick up flakes or nice pieces I enjoy? I knap points from most of the bigger flakes I find. Trust me I’ve found more flint than I could ever bring home and have room for my other hobbies I have.
