central illinois back yard find

i was detecting in my moms back yard. i was plling the usual pulltabs. he was digging a hole to hide treasure for my son and nephew to hunt, when she unearthed this beauty.
it measures 3/4 " diam. and 2 1/8" long. it appears to be brass. we think its a lipstick tube, but no idea of the year.

I have found a few just like it and mine are all lipstick tubes. Someone on here may be able to ID it for you. Nice yard find!

Yep, its a lipstic case. If you twist the cap off you can see to colour of it. As for the age, I have no idea, 40's sounds good to me. (but what do I know)
