I have the #s of hunters to form a club, but thoughts on the issue are mixed. Some say there is not enough ground left in the area to hunt without having to knock on doors. others like the idea of a club, but I fear there would not be enough places to hunt without finding Private properties...All the public places have been pounded to death in the Syracuse area. There are plenty of places that would probably let you hold meetings for free or with little cost in the area, and there are also a number of large fields to hold organised hunts. I have even thought about activities like teaching local police about detectors, or Boy Scout/Girl Scout groups...Maybe Schools I have tons of ideas...The hardest part is getting the club going and keeping members interested. If we were a sanctioned club, the FMDAC would even find sponsors and give money to hold Sanctioned hunts. Just need to get at least 5-8 folks that are truely interested.
