[FONT=open_sans]AN AMATEUR detectorist unearthed a silver medal dating back more than a hundred years – in a Plymouth park.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]Now Patrick Mullen has stepped up his search to find out who it once belonged to after finding it in a spot where perhaps hundreds of feet would have walked over it in the years it remained hidden.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]He took up metal detecting as a hobby two years ago after undergoing open heart surgery, which meant he could no longer work.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]But to his surprise, on just his third trip out to Devonport Park he discovered an historic silver swimming medal, dated 1913.[/FONT]
