Come back in on Sunday night and post photos of finds by 9 pm.
Pick one item that you found as your personal weekend best.
We'll do a survey of all the fine folks that venture in (if I can figure out how it works) to who has the best find.
Results will be tallied and I will give a detecting oriented prize to the winner.

No cheating Only stuff dug this weekend will apply.

Here's the better finds from this morning. I guess I'll pick the earring as my weekend's best. The clasp is marked sterling. It was in the same hole and fits the earring, so I'm assuming it was the original.

I went with a short hunt with Kindafoundabuckle and we dug up some .69 cal minieballs and round balls. I found the biggest piece of campfire lead I've ever found. It was as big as my face! The best part is that we have found another picket post on the edge of a campsite we're after! So my best is a .69 three-ring minie.

Back was feeling a little tender today, so I didn't stay out long. Spent a couple of hours at the nearby elementary school that has produced lots of clad in the past. Here is my count for the day:

Quarters: 2
Dimes: 7
Pennies: 10

Total: $1.30

Oldest coin was a '67 dime

Went to the Home Depot the other day and picked up a handful of free paint sticks. Glued some coins, bottle cap and pull tab to them and started air testing my machine with different settings. Field tested a theory today by turning the sensitivity to the max setting and turning the discrimination up to just the silver coin range. Found less trash and still had a few hits at 6-8", which turned out to be deep junk. My Prizm "II.v" has a little better depth than I thought. Found the pennies after knocking the discrim back down a notch to include them.

Also helped a guy on a go-cart find the chain link that broke while he was riding on the old baseball field. Felt pretty good about helping and he was very appreciative.

Not as good as everyone else that's posted so far, but at least I was outside in shorts and a t-shirt.
