Re: Charges Dismissed in 'Buried Treasure' Case

bottom line -- if its on "someone" elses land (private land) that they pay the "taxes" upon --its their stuff ---unless there is a argeeement for you to hunt upon their land and split up what you find , if you areworking on "their" land and "find" something worth $$$$ guess what --it's the land owners --- unless your a "theif" and try to make off with the landowners goods without their knowledge * which these guys tried to do ---

by "rights" the workmen are to report it to said "landowner"

who hopefully has a bit of class (and brains) --best case -- cut up the find keeping their traps shut ---
however if said landowner does not "share" anything -- mine all mine -- the the workmen can just tell the IRS taxman about the "land owners" good luck and collect the "reward" they pay for turning in tax cheats --( more than likely --ifthe ";asnd owner" is too greedy to share any with the workmen , the land owner will not report it on his taxes either) so at the very least he'll have to pay a lot in taxes and mess with the "taxman" --(cheaper to share with the workers and shut all yer mouths. to avoid the "taxman" )
