A while back I had gotten about 18 very dirty halves (almost looked like corrosion), and could not tell much about them. I did not want to turn them back in the way they were, so I put them thru my tumbler. Out of those, if I remember right, there was one 64 and 11 40%. Needless to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I really wish I had some before and after pictures. I got another very dirty coin and this time have some before and after. The dirty one I actually scrapped a little bit to see the date.

And just as a note, when I was initially looking at this half, I had a hard time telling what date it was even with a magnifying glass, I had to rub it quite a bit.
