hey there fellow metal detector people...
i got a real nice surprise today..
i was cleaning up my recent finds.
thought one was a token..
real smooth and round. it had a brown patina.
i took an sos pad to it..still couldn't tell what is was.
i put it in a salt and lemon mix for 2 days..
scrubbed it again...
here is what i found...
i think it's an flying eagle cent..
this is my second top bucket list find, after a gold coin of course..
i did find a pretty cool tie tac.?
and a bicycle badge?
any info on these would be appreciated..
thanks for looking and happy hunting...
OWG....

I never understood why when people post there finds they have to be assaulted by everyone who doesn't like what they did to a coin or they rubbed it to hard its one of the biggest reasons i quit posting...its your coin, your find, do with it as you please and congrats that's a great find my friend

ROFL :coffee2: I've been attempted to use SOS on occasion.
I usually use a pencil Erasure.

the sos worked pretty good :headbang:

because of Shape, that is what I would Guess.
and I see there is/was a Millrich outfitters which appears to have sold
outdoor stuff. so it would fit as maybe a Freebie Pocket Knife
they may have given out for advertising purposes..
Of course there were Millrich Bicycles so I'm not 100% sure yet,
though Bicycle badges are usually rap around

would have graded MS62 if you hadn't used the SOS pad right ?

no - it wouldn't have .... I'd have done similar to try and clean and find out what it was as rubbed as it is

most excellent find

I , for one, have never had the pleasure of finding flying eagle cent. Yours is a beauty! I'm quite jealous. Congratulations on a pretty special recovery.
