I ain't no Romeo, at least not yet, but finding multiples is happening all over. I finished watching Price is Right and decided to head back to the field behind my house for a two hour walk with the detector. I wasn't finding much at all when I wandered to a corner I don't think I searched before, when I left I had 5 Chinese cash coins all from within a 20 foot radius. Other finds were merely trash but these sure made scratch my head since these don't show up here too often especially in 5's!

They all appear to te same script, but the sizes vary. Sad though, I'm going to be hungry for some real finds again pretty soon, might have to check the Colonial radar!

Nice find! I've found a whole bunch of old Japanese coins. I found them at the beach, and were all found within a 20 foot radius.

Man,they do show up everywhere!I love digging them, fortunatly there were hundreds of Chinese around here and they lost a lot of them!We often find them in multiples(the most I have found in one hole were 13 in an Opium tin),but my buddy dug 32 in one hole last year.I think the multiples are because they often carried them on strings,or on metal rods(which I have seen dug as well).Hikeinmtns on here can I.D them for you and I would bet yours date to the 1700's as many seem to fall into period.

Is it true odd numbers are considered good luck in East Asia, China, and Japan? Gifts and offerings are given in odd numbers. Hey, it was good luck for you, Ironhorse!
