Looks more like a burial vault for an important family or individual. Maybe a mausoleum.

I agree the walls are real thick, no window. And it looks like the occupant escaped.

That huge blow-hole looks like it could have been made by a 90mm or 105mm artillery round. What country is this thing located? Just out of curiosity.
