I finally got the nerve to ask the local pastor to allow me to search the play lot in the back of the old church in town. The church was built in 1912 so I had high hopes that I would find old coins. The pastor said "no problem...hope you find good stuff" (that was easy...what was I waiting for?). What I found was a very odd mix indeed.

Today's "haul"...about $4.00 in clad; a serum vial; an el cheapo watch; a hammer and sickle pin (whaaaat?); a bridle ring; a small key; a lead pistol or musket ball; a what's-it thingee with holes in it; and parts of some old tools. Not a single old coin today, surprisingly. However, there are so many more targets (lots of old iron fer sure), so I will have to go back. HH

I really like the glass vial and of course the kids handcuff key. I'm sure once you clear all the iron out of the way those coins will start to pop up. HH.

Nice digs! :icon_thumleft: Interesting pin and I like the little key also. You never can predict a hunt, can you?
