I had a great Civil War relic hunt this weekend, one of my best ever. Saturday was mostly spent on a new permission, with my hunting partner and I not finding any relics at all....we went back to a stand-by property for the last few hours til dark and did find a few bullets.
On Sunday our luck changed and we got into a great spot. I dug 44 bullets, a beautiful US Belt Plate, and a bayonet (with broken scabbard tip). The bayonet has a clean break right in the middle, I think maybe a heavy vehicle ran over it since it was right on the edge of a farm road and it wasn't very deep. Any thoughts on repairing the bayonet? Small spot weld?
Thanks--JB

Unbelievable hunt. I would have passed out on that buckle. Congratulations
I almost did Truth, the signal was so strong, even with my pinpointer, I just popped it out with my digging tool...just a couple of inches deep. I was in total shock.--JB
