A Newbie detecting on a ranch in SW Montana! The ranch owner thought there was a stagecoach stop on the property and this is most of what I found. The button appears to be from the civil war, it has the words
SCOVILL MFG CO WATERBURY on the back. All the items were found within an acre area. I am looking for input on all the items I found. :hello2: Thanks!!

Good stuff!

It's a general service button. Used before, and after the Civil War as well.

There were U.S. troops as far as the Pacific Northwest during the war.

Nice sword belt buckle, and belt plate, etc.

Hey goldbadger I'm in Kalispell. A couple years ago I found one in Williston. What town are you in.

I've only driven through never detected there but the area is pretty nice. Have you detected any of the old ghost towns around Superior?
