Dont know how far back that design goes .But I had the exact one that was made in 1919.

I can't really tell from your photos the color of the leather, but the Civil War Era ones are black leather and the early 20th century are a brown color. I have a Civil War one I found at an outdoor auction and paid 10 dollars for it. It still has one of the original wooden stirrups on it.

I hope yours is black. I was looking very closely at the photos again and I do lean toward it being the brown leather type though(I'm comparing it with the black strap in the floor.) I am not really sure though. Could you post photos outside in daylight?
