Hey guys,
Got out swinging inland on some productive civil war dirt. Inland permission, so was swinging the trusty HF Round Deus in full tones. The best dig ended up being a pretty unique one as well, a southern manufacture #8 insignia. Normally a target like this is obvious trash, but you never know...and I dig it all![laughing7 :laughing7: :laughing7:](https://www.treasurenet.com/smilies/laughing7.gif)

While the company letters do up every now and then, the numbers are far more challenging to dig. Pre-1814's military is more my specialty, so I consulted with a few CW buffs and they informed me the size and mounting was not federal in nature. Given the construction it was likely a local manufacture for militia troops, and with the larger size probably shako dress insignia.
This is an 1810 example, but you get the idea.

Also dug a pair of stamped brass buckles, wish the tongue had showed up, but just wasn't in the cards.

Not a ton of targets, but definitely some good ones. As always thanks for looking and good luck out there.
