Hit a spot that has a building dating to 1784. The earliest I have found before this large cent was a Hibernia Copper from 1823. I wish I could get a date but all I can see is a 17. Also got a pretty cool civil war store token. I googled the details and its supposedly rare...dunno. Also a silver to round things out. Love the token, first of its kind that I've seen.

It's not a common design, and a couple online sources say it's a rarer token, one even said r-9. I haven't seen this one either. But I just think it's cool! Lol

Great looking token really interesting design and very evocative of their period.

George..

Thx George! The top hat and 1863 together is about as cool as it gets, then the strong patriotic words on the reverse about the civil war raging on....

Strange time they must have been

Haha thx. George, I can't stand to loose detail with the wrong cleaning. That 1816 is water under the bridge buddy?! Lol.

Did you see that Draped?! I knew it was toast the minute I couldn't figure out what the hell it was. Into the pile of copped disks it goes! Lol
