I just picked up a replacement 12" coil for my DFX, old one died and man!! Love the free replacement service!! so I went out for a while or so test the coil.. I was hunting a sizable camp that we have hunted on and off for almost 20 years. When I first got the 12" coil I went there and dug 150 or so 3 ringers, so it is a good place to test the 12" since almost everything left is usually deep. I decided to swing through some of the adjacent fields and hunt the hilltops hoping for a picket post. No luck at all with the Civil War relics.. just one pounded bullet. I dug this set of connected buttons, when I first popped it out of the ground I was thinking it was a cape pin... or should I say I was hoping! so not sure if it is a cuff link or maybe it is a cape pin?? Seems large compared to all the other Colonial era cuff links I have dug. I circled out and found the George III copper about 5 feet away and continued to hunt the area for another hour or so but didn't get anything else..

Great digs!! Not so sure if these are cufflinks. Ive seen cape fasteners like those. Wish we were digging with you and you are definetly the king of the coppers.

Nice hunt. Those are colonial cufflinks to a tee. Right shape even.
