Hey all, found this old trade token not too far from the RR Tracks today. It looks like it has green paint on it and was wondering how to clean it. Its not green patina it is actually paint. Sorry that the pics aren't the best, I have a crappy camera for detail.

A good way I have found to get paint off of metal without ruining the surface with sanding or chemicals is to boil it in a pot of water with a bit of dishsoap. The paint will soften up and whatever doesn't come off in the water will be soft enough to pick off with a toothpick. It can take several tries to get it all off though.

Sounds like a good tip NOLA! I'll have to file that one away for future reference.
