If the bottle has really bad dried residue inside give acetone a try. I've had really amazing results on bottles I would have given up on with other chemicals. I had a bottle soaking in CLR and then toilet cleaner 24 hours each and it did absolutely nothing. I put acetone in it and it was sparkling clean in 5 seconds. Don't mix chemicals obviously. Sometimes you dig a bottle that will have a strong chemical smell and residue. Just an option to try before throwing it away or going to a professional cleaner. It wont remove sickness. I got the big jug from the hardware store. Fill it 1/3 up with straight acetone and pour in cut copper wire. Shake it up!!
