Hi everyone. I found this metal detecting today and I’m wondering if any of you are experts in clock parts. I can’t find any words/numbers/markings, and I’m not sure where to start my research. (Normally I’m happy to do a lot of google searching, but in this case....I’m lost).
Can someone help me with some ideas please?
Thanks!

Try soaking it in apple cider vinegar for a bit and you might find some markings on it. Probably the guts of an old alarm clock from the 40's or 50's is my guess.
