I ain't got a clue what this is.

I don't have much info on it. This weekend a relative showed it to Carolina Tom and myself. It's lightweight and may be made of ceramic. Although looking at the pics that seems a bit doubtful now.

Tom suggested maybe a bullet mold which seems possible as one side has a round depression - maybe for a round ball and the other has an elongated place like a rifle slug.

Maybe Tom will chime in with a few more details.

Pretty sure it's not a mold.

Looks like the insulator that went under an electric heating element, maybe?

I vote for scale weights

Nevermind, I didn't see that the composition was ceramic. Looked like iron to me

I agree that it's something to do with an electric heating element.

I wonder if it isn't a mineral lick that a hunter would hang for deer? Not sure just a thought.

I just stumbled across this thread...

The object is relatively light for it's size and it is grainy. The insulators that I am familiar with are fine grained and ceramic. This looks like cement and sand... sort of like mortar. I wish that I could be more help...

I'm just guessing but it looks like something to change the flow mechanics on fluid (or air). Like inside a lawn sprinkle head to make it spray all around when one side is used and in a specific direction when the other side is used. :dontknow:
