I got hold of a contour hobbleskirt bottle "aka" mae west bottle. I'm not sure if this is the original or just a reproduction. On the heel of the bottle is has the marking of Atlanta GA, on the shoulder it is scripted with"Coca Cola" and right below it " trade mark registered", on the base "a circled C , The Coca-Cola Company. It is greenish in color and have many irregularities such as bubbles. I'm sure it was molded and not machine made. Also it weighs 14 ounces which is unusual for a repro. It does not have the marking of 1915-1965 for the 50th year commemorative nor the 1999 commemorative.
Does someone know the characteristics of the original prototype hobbleskirt? Is this bottle worth anything? Help!!!

I don't remember the exact Coke bottle but it was an early 1900's squat design issue that went for $240,000 at auction. Here is the article.http://cecilmunsey.com/index.php?op...rom+a+non-authorized+domain.+(www.google.com)

Cecil Munsey can probably help you out in determining what you have.

This is why I dig every privy that I can find! Be careful with your bottle and try to get a fair valuation on it. I'd maybe send a picture to Coke and see what they can tell you about its history.

Good luck and nice bottle. Hope it's the real deal *****

Cheers

Thanks TreasureWriter. Mr.Munsey was very helpful, but could not give me a better answer. He believes it was molded from Clay.

And then there were 2....? :)

I was wondering if you found out anything more about your bottle, I have one that looks very similar to it, with no dates, the Atlanta stamp and looks hand made also... Mine leans quite a bit. You are the only person I have found just yet that seems to have what looks like mine -it was my dads (recently passed away) and i am curious about it just because it is cool / odd for replica based on my limited research.

Btw I noticed in his collection that there was another bottle made by a company from my hometown in 1923 for certain... Idk if there may be a connection (maybe they made a copy? Idk) but I thought it was very interesting.
