It cant hurt to try. The Cherokee are said to have had gold mines in the area. Also it is on the edge of the gold belt running from Alabama through N.G, S.E. Tn, up through the Carolina's and points north so there is a good possibility for gold, silver etc. Good luck and let us know how you do. I live just a little north of there in TN and am slowly checking the streams in the area. Have found some interesting rocks in the Conasauga and Jacks rivers I am sure there is gold here somewhere.

Is this creek around White? The Alabama gold camp is due west of White and the Dahlonega gold area is Northeast of White. Seems to me there may be some color in that area cant hurt to try.

If this place no longer is around, maybe you can get some permission to hunt....just a thought. Good Luck, Annmarie
