I have been detecting an old school/church ground that was in constant use from 1807 through mid 1900's. I have found 6 IH's over the last year and a shield nickle, but last weekend was a charm. Here they are after cleaning. I also found two old buttons, harmonica reeds, a .40 caliber and two .36 caliber balls as well as tent grommets, a pocket knife and miscellaneous TREASURE.
Thanks for looking.
Ron

Very nice looking coins!.What did you use to clean your coins?.Also, are you hesitant on cleaning them just in case there is some monetary value involved?.just curious.

RonO- you don't seem all that excited for a grouping that for some would be a lifetime of finds......simply amazing...I have yet to find a silver dollar so you give me hope........I'd go back there and pound the bajeeezus out of it, and very slowly too........ aloha johny mc.

Great finds...... I have a couple of old church yards in mind when the wife and I go to visit her parents next month. I have sweet anticipation of some pre-1900 coins like those (a Morgan or large cents in that good of condition would be very nice) and if I am successful, I may actually suggest going to the in-laws more often :-\

Thanks to all who have posted. The Morgan dollar and the large cent came from a very sandy area and were in remarkable good shape, the Indian heads came from a clay area. Of course, silver coins almost always look good, but a lot of coppers and nickles can really be discolored and corroded. I use electrolysis to clean my coins, but I have ruined some good IH's before and almost ruined the two in the photo. I've learned a very short electrolysis bath goes a long way. Thanks for all the kind remarks and good luck to all.

Very nice! Wish I could find a church yard to produce like that!
Congrats!
