Coinstar Finds

Well, you may be right, but still it's a big heavy coin. I would think people would just hang onto it as a curiosity. But no, I'm wrong, they throw it in the trash.

Yeah, that one was a head scratcher. As far as I know most coin counters eat Ikes, I have seen a few in the internal reject bin of many machines. But hey, whatever, throw your money away - I will be there to clean it up!

I had a parking meter eat a Kennedy Half dollar, I got pretty steamed from that. Government wants everyone to use the ugly manganese coins or even worse, cell phones to pay for parking. I'll stick with cash and coin thank you very much.

Actually, the coins came from under the machine, not in the reject slot. I barely find anything in the slot. My finds are almost always from under the Coinstar. I've found about 8 silver dimes and a semi-key silver quarter (1936-D), plus probably like 50 types of foreign, including a silver 80% South African 3 pence from 1943.

How do you get access under the machine?

Just got on the coinstar site and used the locator to find the ones in my area!!! :D New activity for after banking hours!!!!

i found a 1964 dime. at a wallmart coinstar. i wish i invented that coinstar i would have a tottaly different system if you know what i mean

I was on vacation for Labor Day weekend in WV and went to a Kroger (we don't have any in my area).

I forgot to post this earlier, so the date is not a mistake, I did find it on Tuesday.

I didn't post on this thread recently, as all my coinstar finds have been very small (2 or 3 cents). I recently found a Magician's token and a copper Cinemark token. But some more now:

your coinstar log amazes me, I have looked in every single coinstar I have ever walked past and I think I've gotten less than a dollar in clad. Nice work!

After Christmas, I'll go to some stores I've never been in, and I'm sure I'll bring in a load back, so I'll post about that. Also, I'll start a thread on ground finds starting January 1, and that will be in the "I Couldn't Believe My Eyes" section, and may also do some coin pusher gambling this weekend.
I Couldn't Believe My Eyes!

WARNING: This guys face is ugly.

dawg, those coin pusher machines are addictive, I spent $20 and my homie spent $10, just to use the machine. When I was $5 ahead, I said its time to call it quits, but we decided to keep going. Ended up loosing all the money, don't be suckered in, those machines don't work.

WOW, WHAT A FREAK IN THE VIDEO, I wish I'd of taken your warning serious
