What you need Ian is a pair of seal skinze gloves...brilliant for detecting, wool on the outside with a neoprene membrane, doesn't matter if the out-side gets wet, your hands are always toast ...nice pictures

Of course, detecting gets pretty much out of the question, as the frost line is 48 inches. You can detect the snow in the parking lots, though. But now in your defense, this is an extremely low humidity climate here, and cold just doesn't feel that cold. 5F below zero is more comfortable here than a wind chill of 10F in Oklahoma, which has higher humidity. See if you can find some of those 'Hot Hands' and stick a couple in your gloves. They really help. (You can put them in your boots, too)
