I’m always told you need warm nights, 50s or higher, to get these.
These were after a night that hit 38 degrees F. That’s 10 little treasures that I didn’t expect.👍🏼

I have had several spots where I have found mushrooms for years. They were always within a couple of feet from previous finds. Last year and this year, I see absolutely no evidence of them being around. If somebody picked them, I would see where they were cut. Always around the crab apple trees. I sure do miss them. Great score!

I had already cut them in-half for soaking, before the photo. I hear prices above $40/lb this year. I never sell any, so I’m not sure.

I've seen Morel's sell at local farm auctions here in Ohio for $90.00 to $110.00 a pound.
They sell select Morel's on the internet for over $150.00 a pound.

A short season and demand vs supply, I guess. I’ve given them away on good years, but have never sold any.

Depends on how long you cook them, they are never slimy mush, somewhat like cooked firm green beans. They have a flavor of their own. If you like them you really like them, if you don't then you don't.

Spongy/firm cooked. I bread mine in egg and panko crumbs.
